Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice

Ingredients
 

Crispy Sushi Rice

  • 1 cup uncooked white rice small or medium sized grain
  • 5 tbsp oil any of your chois
  • 1 tsp salt for taste
  • 2 cups water

Spicy Tuna

  • 200 g sushi-grade Tuna
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise any of your preferred
  • ½ tsp sriracha
  • ½ tsp soy sauce1
  • 1 tsp salt for taste

Avocado Layer

  • 1 large Avocado
  • 1 tsp lime juice optional

Garnishing

  • Jalapeno slices
  • sesame seeds optional

Method
 

Making of Spicy Tuna:
  1. Cut down the Tuna into small pieces and slices.
  2. Take a small bowl, add tuna and mix it with mayonnaise, oil, sriracha and soy sauce.
  3. Add salt for the taste and mix nicely to get a spicy tuna.
  4. Keep the bowl at one side and go for the avocado.
Preparation of Avocado Mixture:
  1. Grab the avocado and cut it into small cubes.
  2. Add lime juice and sprinkle salt just for the taste.
  3. Mash it with a fork with soft hands until it turns into your desired texture.
  4. Refrigerate it and go for the sushi rice.
Prepare Sushi Rice
  1. First, start rinsing the sushi rice well with clean water to remove any starch.
  2. Dip the rice in a bowl of water for 8 minutes.
  3. Take a saucepan or pot and fill it with water.
  4. Once the water starts boiling, pour the washed rice into the saucepan or pot.
  5. Cook the rice for 10 to 12 min on medium-high heat. If you’re using an instant pot, set it on high pressure for 7 to 8 minutes.
  6. After 12 minutes, turn off the flame. The rice is now cooked.
  7. Shift rice to a bowl and let it cool down.
Make Crispy Rice
  1. Pour the rice into a tray or container.
  2. Flatten it with a spatula to level from the top and turn it into a thick layer.
  3. Now the thick and leveled layer of cooked rice is ready for the cutting.
  4. Cut the rice with a knife in a rectangle shape.
  5. Now the squares are ready for the fry.
  6. Take a large frying pan with your preferred oil on high heat.
  7. Place your rice cakes into the pan one by one.
  8. Fry each side for 3 minutes until it becomes golden brown. Add more oil if needed and keep flipping each square patty carefully.
  9. Remove from the pan and shift to the rack to keep crispy.
Build Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice
  1. Place all the patties on a plate and start adding a mixture of avocado.
  2. Add spicy tuna with your spoon on the top.
  3. Sprinkle with sesame seeds for garnish.
  4. Add a jalapeno on top of it. Serve and enjoy!
